How to use this calculator

  1. Enter the classes you attended.
  2. Enter the total classes held so far.
  3. Set the minimum attendance your college needs.
  4. Read your percentage and how many you can miss or must attend.

The formula

Attendance % = Attended ÷ Held × 100. Classes you can miss = floor(Attended × 100 ÷ Required − Held). Classes to attend in a row = ceil((Required × Held − 100 × Attended) ÷ (100 − Required)).

Worked example

With 68 of 80 classes you have 85%. To stay at 75% you can miss 10 more classes. With 50 of 80 you have 62.5%, and you must attend the next 40 classes in a row to reach 75%.

Understanding your result

The numbers assume every future class counts the same and nothing changes about the total. If a leave or medical certificate is accepted, add it to the classes attended.

When to use it

  • Plan leave without losing eligibility for exams.
  • See how many classes you must attend to recover.
  • Track attendance during the term.

Assumptions and limits

Rules differ by college and some count medical or sports leave. Always confirm with your institution. The tool does not know future timetable changes.

Frequently asked questions

Many colleges allow it. Add the days to attended classes if yours does.
