The formula
Worked example
The timestamp 1700000000 is Tuesday, 14 November 2023, 22:13:20 UTC, which is 3:43:20 am IST on 15 November. The date 2 November 2026 12:00 UTC is the timestamp 1793620800.
Understanding your result
Timestamps ignore time zones, so the same number means the same instant everywhere. Only the displayed date changes by zone.
When to use it
- Debug logs and databases.
- Convert API timestamps to readable dates.
- Create timestamps for code and scheduling.
Assumptions and limits
Dates for conversion are taken as UTC. Leap seconds are not counted, as is standard for Unix time.
