The formula
Worked example
Born on 15 June 1995, on 2 November 2026 you are 31 years, 4 months and 18 days old, which is 11,463 days.
Understanding your result
The headline age uses calendar years and months, so months have different lengths. The total days line is an exact count. A leap-day birthday (29 February) is counted on 1 March in non-leap years.
When to use it
- Check eligibility for exams, jobs and schemes.
- Fill forms that ask for age on a given date.
- Plan birthdays and milestone events.
Assumptions and limits
The date of birth must be before the second date. Dates use the Gregorian calendar and are not affected by time zones.
Frequently asked questions
How is my exact age calculated?
The calculator counts full years since your birth date, then the remaining full months, then the remaining days.
Can I find my age on a past or future date?
Yes. Change the second date to any date after your date of birth.
How are leap-year birthdays handled?
If you were born on 29 February, the birthday falls on 1 March in non-leap years.
Why do total months and years not match days divided by 365?
Calendar months and leap years vary in length, so the year-month-day age is calendar-based while days are an exact count.
Is my date of birth stored?
No. Everything runs in your browser and nothing is sent to a server.
